Some pictures from Weekend Drawing Events

Here are a couple of pictures from weekend drawing events on the website Wetcanvas.com. These are both after working two hours.

The weekend drawing event is where someone posts several photos and you have to pick at least on of those photos within 30 minutes. Then, once you've picked one, you work for two hours and then show your work on the site. You can then finish the piece, or which I haven't done, yet, with these two.

Both of these are in colored pencil. The sushi is from this weekend's WDE and the landscape is from one at the end of February 2010.

I think it's good to work on different subjects, especially when I am thinking of trying to get into graphic design.

Lion Drawing Finished

I meant to post this earlier, but I forgot, sorry. I finished my lion drawing a while back. It's 8.5 x 5.5 on paper and done with colored pencil.

Chimney Rock on the California Riding and Hiking Trail

I went hiking up (or rather down) the California Riding and Hiking trail last Sunday and took a few photos. This photo was taken high up above Grapevine Canyon not too far from Angelina and Stewart Springs.

My new haircut

Here's a self portrait of me after I got my haircut at Dearinger's salon this afternoon. I took this picture right after I got home. It probably won't look the same in a few hours.

Oh, as for the earthquake, everything is fine.

Picture of Me

I thought I'd put another picture of me up. This was taken last January in Hellhole Canyon in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

I am nearly finished with my Wetcanvas project and will start working on the running horses, soon. I will probably post my next one for that WIP on Sunday or Monday at the latest, possibly sooner.

Photo for Today, Sunflowers

I had a photo that I took with my cell phone and sent to my album online by mistake, but I can't seem to access it because the site is down. So, I picked out another photo to post. I think I took this with my Pentax K1000 35mm camera. This set of sunflowers are also printed on my tote back that I made through cafe press. If you are interested in purchasing a bag with this picture and one other (that I will post later), please contact me.

Streaking Headlights, Photo for today.

I had a nice little acrylic painting all ready to go, but after working with the scanner for two hours, I couldn't get it working. So, since I do not scan my photographs, I will be adding a photo every day until I can either get to another place to scan my artwork, or get this scanner working again. Often, it will work itself out in a couple of days. I will keep working on the problem.

Meanwhile, enjoy today's photo. This is a 35mm photo, aperture priority.
