Chimney Rock on the California Riding and Hiking Trail

I went hiking up (or rather down) the California Riding and Hiking trail last Sunday and took a few photos. This photo was taken high up above Grapevine Canyon not too far from Angelina and Stewart Springs.

Dos Cabezas Station

I walked about 5 miles from S-2 near the Border Patrol Checkpoint and came across this old station. This part of the railroad was destroyed in 1976 by Tropical Storm Kathleen. It's not too far from that famous trestle over Carrizo Gorge. I hope to get a shot of the trestle, soon.

In the Desert This Morning

I went out to the desert this morning and took this photo of my car at the Carrizo Badlands Overlook in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

Here is another shot of the Clark Valley area of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This was about a mile or so past the dry lake bead. Those are the Santa Rosas there.

Clark Valley/Rockhouse Canyon Road

This is a photo that wasn't getting much attention on Gather, so I thought I'd post it here. I took this on November 20th out in Clark Valley in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This is the photo of the road just past the dry lake bed.

Here are some flowers that I saw last spring between the visitor's center and the Borrego Valley Campground.

Palo Verde Trail

I found this while I was looking for some other pictures. It's a photo I took last February on the Palo Verde Trail in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. I hope I haven't posted this before.

Flowers Everywhere!

Here is another picture I took in March of the flowers. I may go out soon and take some new pictures, I just don't know where I'm going to take them.

Self Portrait in Palm Canyon

This is a self portrait of me about a couple of miles down the main trail in Palm Canyon of the Anza-Borrego Desert. I took this on that trip a couple of months ago. Gas prices are too high for me to travel as well as having a problem with the car starting and the key getting hot.

Looking East on the Alternate Trail

This is a photo taken from the alternate trail to Palm Canyon in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This is a great trail, though a little longer than the main trail. I liked it because there were a lot less people on this trail and you can hear the quiet.

Here is a photo of another palm cluster further away from the first palm grove in Palm Canyon in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

Palm Canyon, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

Sorry for the long delay in posting. Yesterday, I went to Palm Canyon in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. There were a lot of greenery and flowers that I will post pictures of later. This one was taken near the entrance to the first Palm Canyon palm grove which is the one that most people see. There are actually a couple of other groves further up the trail, but they are hard to get to.

View from Visitor's Center

This is the view from the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park visitor's center. I took this with RAW settings on my Digital Rebel Camera a few weeks ago.
