Pacific Beach Summer Sunset

This was a photo I took a few days ago near the Pacific Beach Pier. I had to crop some of the bottom out because some people walked into the shot.

You can see more description of it here:

Dos Cabezas Station

I walked about 5 miles from S-2 near the Border Patrol Checkpoint and came across this old station. This part of the railroad was destroyed in 1976 by Tropical Storm Kathleen. It's not too far from that famous trestle over Carrizo Gorge. I hope to get a shot of the trestle, soon.

I shot this yesterday just south of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park where the land is either BLM land or privately owned.

Hiking Up Cowles Mountain

Here is a photo I took on New Year's Day on Cowles Mountain. I took this once I reached the top. The view there is of Santee, Lakeside and you might be able to see Ramona, too. It was a little foggy that day.

Here is that painting I finshed based on an area in the Morongo Valley Preserve north of Coachella Valley. It is 8.5 x 11 on canvas paper.

Clark Valley/Rockhouse Canyon Road

This is a photo that wasn't getting much attention on Gather, so I thought I'd post it here. I took this on November 20th out in Clark Valley in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This is the photo of the road just past the dry lake bed.

Santa Ysabel Preserve

I went early on a Sunday morning there for a hike. Here is a photo at the top of the ridge a few miles from Highway 79.

They're creating a staging area off of Highway 78 for this preserve, but it's not open yet. It looks like it will be nice.

Cahuilla Reservation

This is a photo I took on my last trip to Coachella Valley. I was driving up out of the valley on highway 74 to a little hiking trail on the Cahuilla Reservation in the Santa Rosa Mountains.

Thundercloud at Coachella Valley Preserve

This is a photo I took a couple days ago at the Coachella Valley Preserve in Thousand Palms, California. There was no rain, but I think I heard some thunder in the distance.

This is a photo of the bike and walking path all around Lake Forest and Mission Viejo.  They also have horse trails.   This one is along El Toro road.

Tree on Volcan Mountain

I thought this tree had a little bit of character, so I decided to shoot a picture of it.

Cuyamaca is still green

This is a photo I took at the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park just south of Julian, California. It's still a little green up there because they've been getting a little bit of summer rain. But, if you're from another part of the country, you would probably think this wasn't green enough.

Mission Trails Black and White Photo

I decided to convert this to black and white. This is a photo I took at Mission Trails Park a couple of days ago.

Off of Volcan Mountain

I went hiking on Volcan Mountain today and shot some pictures of the thunderstorm that was trying to form on the mountain near Julian, California. I underexposed this photo on purpose to get the clouds to become more visible.

Highway 74

I don't think I ever posted this before. I know that the date on it says 2008, but it was actually completed and sold a few years ago. It was an 11 x 14 acrylic painting on canvas board. It depicts an area off of highway 74 between Temecula and Idyllwild.
