Breceda Sculptures in Borrego Springs

I've been writing a lot about these sculptures in Borrego Springs and posting in on Gather. I thought I would post a few here, one at a time, until I can post some of my own artwork.

These sculptures were created by Ricardo Breceda and are placed all over Galleta Meadows in Borrego Springs, California. Here are some sheep sculptures:

Chimney Rock on the California Riding and Hiking Trail

I went hiking up (or rather down) the California Riding and Hiking trail last Sunday and took a few photos. This photo was taken high up above Grapevine Canyon not too far from Angelina and Stewart Springs.

Happy Valentine's Day

I don't really have a Valentine's day photo or anything, so here I am in Borrego Springs enjoying my lunch.

Montezuma Grade Sunrise

I decided to list my WIP every other day, though I am still working on it every day. In the meantime, I scanned this painting in three parts and put all the pieces together to make an as accurate as possible representation of this 16 x 20 acrylic painting on canvas.

Unfinished Drawing

This is a 6 x 8 drawing on Strathmore paper. It is basically unfinished and I am unsure if I will actually complete it. I may post an update tomorrow on it.

I usually don't do black and white drawing, but one thing about doing a daily blog, it gets me do some kind of artwork every day. I thought I could use some tuning up on toning and shading.

This is a sketch of the Borrego Circle area of Borrego Springs, CA. I used a photo I took a few years back as a reference.

Desert Drawing, Completed

I think I can call this completed. I may still "tweak" the work in the future to make it more marketable.

Hi, my DSL modem broke down and I'm back on dial-up. Even before that happened, I picked this photo out that I did last year to post, I just hadn't been able to post it until this late. I have started a new drawing and will be posting a work in progress as soon as I can. I may or may not be able to post day after day for a while, but I will make an attempt to do so whenever I can.
