2 Duckling Souls

This is an acrylic on loose canvas from a photo I took.  The two mallard ducklings didn't survive, but are alive forever in this painting.  They were about three days old at the time.

This art is available as a print on Fine Art America.  I haven't decided to put it anywhere else yet except in offline shows.

Del Mar Stilt

This is an acrylic painting on unstretched canvas 9 x 12.  It is one of my favorites this year.  If you would like to purchase a print, let me know.  It's also available on Fine Art America.  See blow for a link to my page.

I used a blurry photo I took of a black-necked stilt in Del Mar and made it to a painting.  I use a very limited palette with only a few different tubes of paint.  Mostly two types of blue, one type of red, yellow, two types of brown and white.

Newest Work In Progress, Car Camping

This is my newest colored pencil drawing, it's 9 x 12 on paper. I used to go car camping about 15 years ago or so, with my Ford Granada.

Update on my Kitty Drawing

In case you didn't see it on Gather or Wetcanvas, here is an update to my colored pencil drawing that I am doing. I am going to put it aside for now. Yes, I know there's a lot of work that can still be done, but I want to move on to other things.

I now have my own specific page over at Gather.

Hi everyone. I wanted to mention that I now have my own specific page over at Gather.com for all the content I post over there. I also have a feed to this blog, too. So, if you want, you can view my writings and photography over there.

New Painting in Progress--Morongo Valley

I am in the process of doing this 8 1/2 x 11 acrylic on canvas paper painting of Morongo Valley, California. I am using a bad photo I took as a reference. I don't know if I will be putting anything in the foreground. I will have to see how things work out when I get there.

Update on the WIP for Wetcanvas.

I know I haven't been working on this much, but here's the latest update. Unfortunately, scanning it makes every little line come out when it comes to colored pencil.

OK, here's an update on that colored pencil drawing that I'm doing for Wetcanvas. It will get better.

Nina Kuriloff's Blog

I just wanted to point to an online friend's blog about her beautiful artwork. She is Nina Kuriloff and she has a surreal style to her artwork. Many of her paintings are tasteful nudes done in a surreal style, but she does other subjects as well. Here is a link to her site. Nina Kuriloff Fine Art

But, beware, she does paint nudes, so you might want to keep it from your children if you feel that that subject is not suitable for them.

She also has a few other sites that artists can show their art or link to.

New Project for Wetcanvas.

I'd thought I'd show what I am working on for Wetcanvas' Still Life Project. I am working on this very slowly, but I'm going to get it done. It's colored pencil on Canson paper. I am not really creating this to show or sell, unless I get it done before my next show in September.

My New Blog

Hi everyone! I'm not posting any photos or artwork today because I wanted to announce my new blog: Darlene's Journey to Earning Money on the Internet.

I will still be posting photos and artwork here and I will work to do so more often. I am actually working on an art project right now.

I apologize to all my Wetcanvas friends that I haven't been posting as much and will be back, posting regularly, in a week or two.

This is December's "Different Strokes" project on the Wetcanvas website. It's 6 x 8 acrylic on canvas board.

Current Art Projects

I am currently involved with many different works in progress, but can't post them as yet. I am doing the December Different Strokes for Wetcanvas, waiting for supplies to finish the abstract that I started last week, and plan to work on a digital challenge for Wetcanvas, too. Ontop of that, it's Christmas time and am doing craft projects. So, if anyone was wondering why I wasn't posting my daily artwork, that would be the reason why.

WIP continued

I didn't have much time to do anything today as I am working at my outside job. I did some work on it yesterday. I am thinking of making some changes to the sky and the lighting in the background.

Volcan Moutain, Finished

I finished with this piece today. The new scanner I got scans a little on the dark side and I have tried to correct that.

New Scanner, Rose Creek Inlet

I got a new scanner with Photoshop Elements and was able to use photo merge. This is the first montage of paintings that I have tried to merge. I used two different scanners and it didn't merge quite right. But, the next ones I did were better and I will post them at a later date.

This is an 18 x 24 acrylic on stretched canvas of Rose Creek Inlet.

Montezuma Grade Sunrise

I decided to list my WIP every other day, though I am still working on it every day. In the meantime, I scanned this painting in three parts and put all the pieces together to make an as accurate as possible representation of this 16 x 20 acrylic painting on canvas.

Continuing on with Volcan Mountain

I'm still working on this, little by little. Today, a fire started in the area of the subject of the painting, well, really a few miles down the road. This area, near Julian, CA, has had a lot of fires in recent times.
