Newest Work In Progress, Car Camping

This is my newest colored pencil drawing, it's 9 x 12 on paper. I used to go car camping about 15 years ago or so, with my Ford Granada.

Chimney Rock on the California Riding and Hiking Trail

I went hiking up (or rather down) the California Riding and Hiking trail last Sunday and took a few photos. This photo was taken high up above Grapevine Canyon not too far from Angelina and Stewart Springs.

Here is another shot of the Clark Valley area of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This was about a mile or so past the dry lake bead. Those are the Santa Rosas there.

This is a photo that wasn't getting much attention on Gather, so I thought I'd post it here. I took this on November 20th out in Clark Valley in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This is the photo of the road just past the dry lake bed.

Looking East on the Alternate Trail

This is a photo taken from the alternate trail to Palm Canyon in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This is a great trail, though a little longer than the main trail. I liked it because there were a lot less people on this trail and you can hear the quiet.

Palm Canyon, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

Sorry for the long delay in posting. Yesterday, I went to Palm Canyon in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. There were a lot of greenery and flowers that I will post pictures of later. This one was taken near the entrance to the first Palm Canyon palm grove which is the one that most people see. There are actually a couple of other groves further up the trail, but they are hard to get to.

View from Visitor's Center

This is the view from the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park visitor's center. I took this with RAW settings on my Digital Rebel Camera a few weeks ago.

Anza-Borrego Visitor's Center

Here's a photo of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Visitor's Center. This should be the first stop on any trip to this park. Here you can find road information and where sheep were last sighted.

This building was designed to blend into the environment. It is hard to see unless you know it's there and are close to it.

Palo Verde and San Jacinto

Here is a shot of some Palo Verde and Mt. San Jacinto to the north of the area. I took this with automatic settings. f/9, 1/500, 200 ISO.

Palo Verde Wash

I went out walking into the Palo Verde Wash in the Anza-Borrego Badlands. I had lots of car trouble, but I was able to shoot some nice photos which I will post over the next week or so. Here's a photo of me on the road about a mile and a half or so from Highway 22.

My Car at Fish Creek

This is a photo of my little car taken last spring at the Fish Creek Campground in the Split Mountain Area of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It was taken with my fully automatic digital camera.

Wind Caves, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

You can see these caves formed by the wind deep in the Split Mountain area of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It's just off of Split Mountain Road and you can reach that from Highway 78.
