This is a photo I took while on one of the side streets in Julian, CA. I also posted this on Gather.com, too, along with a Google map.

Off of Volcan Mountain

I went hiking on Volcan Mountain today and shot some pictures of the thunderstorm that was trying to form on the mountain near Julian, California. I underexposed this photo on purpose to get the clouds to become more visible.

On Volcan Mountain

This is a 2004 photograph that I took on a very windy day on Volcan Mountain near Julian, California. It was taken with a totally manual 35mm camera. Though it was summer, it was really windy and cold on this day.

Old View of Julian, CA

Here's a picture from way back in 2004 before most of the recent fires burned through, but after the Cedar fire. This picture was taken with a fully automatic 35mm camera from Volcan Mountain.

Touch-Up

OK, based on some comments of other artists, I touched up the path in the painting. This will be the last time I list this piece of artwork in this blog.

Volcan Moutain, Finished

Work in Progress, continued.

Here is a composite scan of the work in progress. It's not a perfect scan and the lines can be seen. But, it better represents the colors of the painting.

Continuing on with Volcan Mountain

I'm still working on this, little by little. Today, a fire started in the area of the subject of the painting, well, really a few miles down the road. This area, near Julian, CA, has had a lot of fires in recent times.
