View from Iron Mountain

Wow, I didn't realize how long it's been since I last posted. This is a view looking west toward Poway from the 3/4 mile mark on the Iron Mountain trail. I don't know if I really like the foreground contrast, though.

Another Black and White Conversion

Here is another black and white conversion, but I used a conversion extension in Photoshop Elements that I got from Photo Freebies. I have posted the colored photo of this shot before. I think this program did a better job at capturing a range of grays than just converting it to grayscale.

East Side of Iron Mountain

I saw this cross on the east side of Iron Mountain between Poway and Ramona. This photo was taken with my 35mm camera with manual settings.

Lake Murray Rain Storm

This is a 35mm photo of the rain storm that could be heard from Lake Murray in La Mesa, California, but no rain fell. I used my Pentax K1000 to take this photo.

Morning Dove Photo

This is a photo I took a couple of months ago of one of a pair of morning doves that live on our apartment's property.

This was taken with 35mm film, Pentax K1000, 70-210mm macro/zoom lens.

Picture of Me

I thought I'd put another picture of me up. This was taken last January in Hellhole Canyon in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

I am nearly finished with my Wetcanvas project and will start working on the running horses, soon. I will probably post my next one for that WIP on Sunday or Monday at the latest, possibly sooner.

Summer in the Desert

Here is another shot from Culp Valley that I took this summer. It was taken with my Pentax k1000 35mm camera.

I didn't work on my painting that much today because I was working with my scanner making composite pictures of my larger works. The scanner gave out and I don't know when it will be working again. I am getting a new scanner next week and hopefully it will work better.

Today is also the anniversary of the September 11th attacks. I don't have any pictures about that right now, or I would have posted that.

Culp Valley in August

Here is a picture of Culp Valley taken last August with my Pentax K1000 35mm camera. I think I used f8 at 1/125 or 1/250 second. No touch ups other than a levels adjustment was done.

I am having a problem working with my scanner again. I will probably be able to work it out, soon, but may not be able to list artwork again as I had planned. I will continue to do artwork and post them as soon as I can.

Grapevine Canyon Photo for Today

This 35mm aperture priority photo was taken last spring in the Grapevine Canyon Area of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. On Thursday of this week, I am planning to make a trip out to either the mountains or the desert to take fresh photos.

Photo for Today, Ocotillo

Today, I decided to post a photo of an ocotillo plant in the Hellhole Canyon area of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This was taken with a 35mm film camera, aperture priority.

Starting August 28, 2007, I will be focusing on my photography for at least two weeks. During that time, I will only be posting photographs and not paintings or drawings. The photos may or may not have been taken during that time period.

I will be working on other artwork and posting them on eBay during this period. After two weeks, I will go back to my current pattern of posting either artwork or photographs.

I had a photo that I took with my cell phone and sent to my album online by mistake, but I can't seem to access it because the site is down. So, I picked out another photo to post. I think I took this with my Pentax K1000 35mm camera. This set of sunflowers are also printed on my tote back that I made through cafe press. Manipulated Photo, New Sky

This is a 35mm photo that had a very boring, monotonous sky. I went and fixed it up and added a new sky.

Streaking Headlights, Photo for today.

I had a nice little acrylic painting all ready to go, but after working with the scanner for two hours, I couldn't get it working. So, since I do not scan my photographs, I will be adding a photo every day until I can either get to another place to scan my artwork, or get this scanner working again. Often, it will work itself out in a couple of days. I will keep working on the problem.

Today, I am posting a photo, this is another self-portrait of me. This is a 35mm photo taken with an aperture priority camera. This is me at Culp Valley last summer. I forgot to take my glasses off and my hair is a mess, not to mention that I was riding around in a hot car all day.
